Andrew: What is the #1 thing you do to maintain your health??
Joey: The number one thing I do to maintain my health is to spend time to find awareness of my thoughts. Most people only think of the physical body as a sign of good health but forget the important of mental health. A daily mediation practice is a crucial element to maintain my health.
Andrew: Where is your favorite place in the world?
Joey: My favorite place in the world is on the mat. Whether that’s a yoga mat, or a grappling mat... no place makes me more happy :)
Andrew: Beach or Mountains?
Joey: Love both but I have to say I’ve had more amazing memories on the beach then I have in the mountains. Sunrise and sunset on the beach <3
Andrew: Was there one moment or event that set you on track for a healthy lifestyle?
Joey: I don’t believe there was a single moment to set my on healthy path. I would say it was more of a steady snowball effect of good choices. I’m certainly not perfect in terms of healthy (I love sweats ) but I believe every good decision can lead to another and another.
Andrew: What ONE thing would you recommend everyone should do daily?
Joey: The one thing I would recommend everyone do everyday would be to develop a meditation practice. It doesn’t have to be more than just a few moments everyday of just breath awareness to slow down your day to day life... that and laugh.. laugh everyday!!
Andrew: Where do you draw inspiration from?
Joey: I draw my inspiration from so many places and people. The yoga community is full of amazing and inspirational people. I honestly am consistently inspired by Andrew Morris and his passion for learning and sharing. Dylan Werner was a major influence and inspiration when I first started practicing yoga. In regards to living a healthier and happier life, I believe inspiration can be find all around us if we have the right mindset.
Andrew: Can you sum up your philosophy on health in one sentence?
Joey: My Philosophy on health is to be well-rounded. Focus on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of life to find true health.
